Alleging complete collapse of law and order, and involvement of several of the Congress leaders in criminal cases, the former chief minister and leader of opposition in assembly, Om Prakash Chautala on Monday wrote to Haryana governor demanding presidential rule and mid-term poll in the state.
Chautala said, several alleged incidents in which the role of several of the Congress ministers and MLAs had figured in the past, and recent case of suicide by former airhostess of Gopal Kanda's MDLR Airlines in Delhi had brought shame to the state.
Former chief minister demanded immediate arrest of Kanda who was held responsible by the Delhi girl in her suicide note and thus been named in the police case for abetment to suicide. "I would also write to the Lt governor of Delhi in this matter, said Chautala."
In his letter to Haryana governor Jagannath Pahadia, he wrote the criminal cases had begun to come to fore ever since the Congress came to power in 2005.
Beginning with the recovery of huge cash from the car of Ambala MLA Vinod Sharma, others whose names came to light in criminal cases included Om Prakash Jain, Jile Ram Sharma, Dan Singh and Ram Kishan Fauji, while Kanda's name repeatedly figured in several criminal cases.

It was evident that the Hooda-led government was not only protecting the criminals but also promoting the crime.
Chautala also expressed his discontent over the indifferent attitude of the state government in the context of drought as well as its own senior bureaucrats who had openly said that there was rampant corruption in the administration.
