The Chandigarh Meteorological Centre has predicted that the maximum temperature recorded on Sunday was 13°C, seven notches below the normal daytime temperature in this season. Conversely, the minimum temperature rose to 11.2°C, six notches above usual in winters.

The city had earlier grappled with poor visibility when a spell of fog last hit the city in the third week of December.

After rains caused by Western Disturbances lashed the city on Friday and Saturday, bringing down the temperature considerable over the past two days, the department predicts that the skies will largely remain clear over the next few days.
