Alleging being pressurised by Chandigarh and Punjab police, a complainant in the 2011 graft case against former assistant inspector general (AIG) of Punjab Police PS Sandhu sought per mission for “ichha mrityu” (kill self), which was dismissed by the special judge, Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI).
During resumed hearing, complainant Nishant Sharma, former office-bearer of the Shiv Sena (Hindustan), on Wednesday moved an application before CBI special judge Vimal Kumar seeking permission to kill self.
Sharma alleged that he had been falsely implicated in a number of cases and was being pressurised by the Chandigarh and Punjab Police.
Sharma, through this application, had also sought permission from the court to meet the SP, CBI, before recording his statement before the court.
“Sharma moved an application seeking permission to kill self and permission to meet the SP, CBI. The application was dismissed by the court terming it as delaying tactic,” said advocate Rabindra Pandit, defence counsel of Sandhu.
The case will now come up for hearing on April 22.
