DEO Nalini Mimani remained clueless on the issue and blamed the coordination office. She said, “I was not informed by the board about results being sent. The coordination office did not get in touch with us. There was probably miscommunication as I was on a leave.”

She added that in her absence there was no senior hand to handle work.
Earlier, results were directly sent to the DEO's office and later sent to schools.

The cold approach of the DEO's office persists even though the present results for both classes have not been satisfactory. For Class 10, Panchkula slipped to the last position among 21 districts of the state and for Class 12, it figured in the last three districts with poor results.

Mimani said the DEO's office would now ask schools to return results, so that they could be compiled by them and the toppers could be declared.
