All the ultrasound centres in the state should be connected to a common server to check their misuse, said BJP Kisan Morcha president Om Prakash Dhankar, while speaking at a function organised by Samajik Jagriti Manch, wherein social issues such as unmarried youths, female foeticide, inter-state marriages and rising crime were discussed at Jind on Sunday.
Dhankar, who earlier this month had come under fire for his 'Bihari wives' remark, said that inter-state marriages were not uncommon in our country, as veteran Bihar leader Lalu Prasad Yadav's daughter was married in Haryana. He said he didn't see any wrong in marrying outside state, country, caste or religion.
He said that a large number of women from other states, including Bihar, were being brought to Haryana and his point of view was to legalise the process by making the registration mandatory in both states so that families on both sides could take pride in the alliance.
Citing an example of Madhya Pradesh, he said that the government there kept a close eye on a girl child right from her birth to education, marriage and her later life by extending monetary help and the Haryana government should take a cue from it and implement the same here also to empower the girl child.
