Delhi team defeat Haryana Heroes by five wickets

Unbeaten knocks by middle-order batsmen Alimuddin (45 not out) and Rohit Hande (26 not out) helped Delhi Dragons defeat Haryana Heroes by five wickets in a match of the Youth Premier League at the Sector-16 Cricket Stadium on Thursday.

Unbeaten knocks by middle-order batsmen Alimuddin (45 not out) and Rohit Hande (26 not out) helped Delhi Dragons defeat Haryana Heroes by five wickets in a match of the Youth Premier League at the Sector-16 Cricket Stadium on Thursday.

Batting first, the Heroes posted a healthy total of 154 for the loss of one wicket in the given 20 overs. With unbeaten 85, Rocky Ratta was the top scorer for the outfit, while Mohinder Kaila played an equally important knock of 60 runs. For the Dragons, Akhil claimed the only wicket for 29 runs.

Replying, the Dragons overhauled the target by making 158 for the loss of five wickets with one over to spare. While Alimuddin and Hande teamed up to guide the winners home, Ayush Mittal chipped in with 40 runs. For the losing side, Rocky Ratta (2 for 33) and Ankur (1 for 28) were the wicket-takers.

In the second match of the day, Punjab Panthers defeated Reva Tigers by narrow-margin of 24 runs.

In another exciting match of the day, Gujarat Lions defeated Uttar Pradesh Warriors by just five runs. Batting first, the Lions made 77 for 6 in 10 overs, with Piyush Patel (23) top scoring for the side. Jaideep Patel chipped in with 17 runs, while Sachin Ratthore contributed 11 runs. Samir Harchul (3 for 13) and Anku Dubey (2 for 24) were the successful bowlers for the Warriors. Chasing, the Warriors were restricted to 72 for 4 in their quota of 10 overs. Samir Harchul (29) was the top scorer for the winners, while Dhaval Patel (2 for 10) was the pick of the bowlers for the Lions.
