Deputy chief minister of Punjab Sukhbir Singh Badal initiated work on three development projects worth Rs 185.16 crore in SAS Nagar on Monday.

Badal laid the foundation stones of ultra modern auditorium worth Rs 55 crore here at Sector 62, residential school for meritorious students worth Rs 30 crore at Sector 70 and 200-meter wide road from Sectors 73/74 junction to Kharar national highway.

Badal said SAD-BJP government was going to set up one of its kind multi-utility auditorium at SAS Nagar. He added that this auditorium would provide great opportunities to budding talents, besides promoting cultural activities.

Deputy CM also announced that Punjab government was going to set up residential schools for meritorious students with an investment of Rs 180 crore in SAS Nagar, Bathinda, Ludhiana, Jalandhar and Amritsar to provide them quality education.

Speaking to media persons, Sukhbir said, National Democratic Alliance (NDA) government would get clear majority in the coming Lok Sabha elections and the fortune of Congress party would be lost into the pages of history as the nation was fed up of anti-people policies.

When asked about whether chief minister Parkash Singh Badal would opt for a senior post if NDA comes to power, Badal said serving Punjab and its people was always first priority for the SAD patron and he would always prefer to stay in Punjab to fulfill his commitments.
