While addressing party workers at Tounidevi, he said that though elections to panchayats were yet to be announced, the Congress government in state could announce elections any time to grip the bodies following its dismal performance during the last Lok Sabha elections. He said that people of the state were fully upset with the anti-people policies of the Congress government in state and would teach the Congress a lesson in the next panchayat elections. He said that since panchayats were the grassroots of democracy, it was the duty of party cadre to have proper grip over them and to oust Congress from power for ever.

The BJP leader suggested holding of elections to all the democratically-elected bodies' right from panchyati raj institutions to the Lok Sabha and Vidhan Sabhas simultaneously to curtail the expenditure and to allow the people to elect the people of one party at a time. He said that once this policy was adopted, the nation would be saved from unnecessary elections and expenses being spent on them time and again.

The BJP leader hits out at the state government for its failure on public distribution front and added that while people were facing the ire of the shortages and price rise, the state government and its officers were sleeping over the issue. He appealed to the people to unite and expose the real face of the Congress party.

Dhumal demanded supply of drinking water through tankers in all such places where there was an acute water shortage due to rising temperature and drying up of the natural water sources as well as the government sources. He said that instead of asking officers to frame schemes at this juncture, the state government should have done this exercise earlier.

He thanked the people for extending its help to the party during Lok Sabha elections.
