Don’t act blindly on Cong’s complaints, SAD urges EC

The Shiromani Akali Dal on Monday urged the Election Commission (EC) to desist from acting on “false, baseless and illogical” complaints by the Congress against the ruling SAD-BJP alliance in Punjab.

In a representation to the chief electoral office, Punjab, SAD secretary and spokesman Daljit Singh Cheema said it was surprising that the EC was taking unwarranted action on the “bogus, false and highly misleading” complaints by the Congress against the ruling SAD-BJP alliance.

He said though the opposition had every right to point out irregularities, if any, of the ruling party, in the case of Punjab it was observed that the Congress was making baseless complaints and the EC without verifying the facts was issuing orders against the SAD-BJP combine.
