The Haryana government on Monday promoted Dr Satvir Chaudhary, additional director general, health services, as director general, health services, (DGHS) on the directions of the Punjab and Haryana high court.

The high court had, in October, directed the state government to promote Dr Chaudhary within three weeks and grant him all consequential benefits after the state government told the court that he had been exonerated with the dropping of disciplinary proceedings against him.
A contempt of court petition was also filed by him on November 1, following which a notice was issued to the principal secretary, health, for November 9.
