EC serves notice to Randeep Singh Surjewla

The Election Commission of India has served a show-cause notice to Haryana minister and Congress from Kaithal, Randeep Singh Surjewla, for allegedly violating the model code of conduct by holding a road show after the scheduled end of the campaign at 6pm on Monday.

The Election Commission of India has served a show-cause notice to Haryana minister and Congress from Kaithal, Randeep Singh Surjewla, for allegedly violating the model code of conduct by holding a road show after the scheduled end of the campaign at 6pm on Monday.

As per the notice issued by Nar Hari Banger, returning officer for the constituency, Surjewala is to reply in 48 hours. The action came after INLD candidate Kailash Bhagat filed a complaint.
