City residents need not visit the UT estate office again and again for checking the status of their files with UT adviser Vijay Dev announcing a series of facilities, including digitisation, during the estate office camp organised at Sector 35 community centre on Wednesday.
“With the records going online, the city residents will not have to face inconvenience. As of now, the general mindset is that the babus keep sitting on files. We will change that by offering best of the services,” said the adviser.
“The UT administration officers should be sensitive towards the needs of elderly and ex-servicemen,” said the adviser. The adviser briefed the staff that they should pay extra attention towards elderly and handle their grievances at the earliest. He added that there are a large number of ex-servicemen in Sector 35 who have served the country.
“The endeavours by the administration at streamlining the estate office work included digitising the files, changing mindset of officials towards citizens and reaching the doorsteps of city residents sector-wise,” he said.
The adviser said the objections in the file would be made at a given time rather than putting objections again and again. “Be it getting registry or obtaining no-objection certificate, residents will be given a checklist of the documents required, along with the files. Once an applicant completes the documents as per the checklist, no officer can put any kind of objection. There would be one-time objection be it clerk, superintendent or any other IAS officer,” he said.

{{/usCountry}}The UT adviser further added that the UT estate office will soon be restructured. “Till now, anybody from a clerk to senior officers could raise objections on a file” said the adviser. The adviser also appealed to the officials to ensure all observations/objections are raised in single step.
The camp was organised by the estate office for the residents of Sector 31-36. UT deputy commissioner Dr SB Deepak Kumar and other senior officials of the UT administration were also present during the camp.
In all, 528 cases were disposed of and 104 cases are pending for want of information/documents from the applicants, who were told to submit the documents.
During the camp, 80 transfer letters/public notices were issued; 66 building plans and revised building plans got sanctioned, 41 cases of payment on account of ground rent, interest received and acknowledgement were issued. As many as 25 permissions to mortgage/ lien were issued, 12 occupation/completion certificates were handed and 11 NOCs were issued, besides six executions of lease deeds issued.
The applications that were lying pending for the last more than one year were also disposed of and settled.
COMPLAINTS ADDRESSED
During the camp, some of the residents pointed out that it actually takes a month to know the objections on their files. To check the delay in such matters, the adviser said, “Now, the senior officers of the estate office will directly monitor the files.”
