Since the time the courts were set up inside the community centre when SAS Nagar became a district, the place has been a victim of the administration’s apathy.

At the entry, one is greeted by an unbearable stench from the washrooms. Even if one does manage to walk past it to enter the building, the floor is littered with garbage.

The lawyers claim they have employed sweepers who clean the complex once in a while. But, there is no regular system in place. Officials from the complex also allege that the administration has not sanctioned funds for maintenance because a new court building will be coming up. The administration’s argument that funds should not be wasted on the old building, officials claim.

UNCLEAN SPOTS

The toilets right at the entrance leak and suffer from poor drains. The women’s room is an absolute mess and it is impossible to escape the water leaking from the roof. Also, they cannot be locked from the inside. The western style washrooms have no proper pipes for the refuse water to drain out. Instead, it just leaks on to the floor.
There aren’t adequate dustbins in the complex.
