The regional cinema has grown by leaps and bound. Punjab 1984 winning a National award (2014) for best Punjabi movie recently and the big banners like Viacom 18 all set to try their luck in Pollywood is proof enough that Punjabi cinema has certainly evolved.

Yaarana
The story of this film revolves around the love for the game of football .The multi-starrer film, with singer Gavie Chahal , Geeta Zaildar, Yuvraj Hans in the lead role, is expected to release on April 14.

Gaddar-the traitor would be the first Punjabi suspense thriller which will hit theatres on May 22. Shot in Canada, UK, Australia, USA and Europe, the film stars Harbhajan Maan, Amitoj Mann among others. The movie should certainly be on your watch list as Harbhajan Mann is making a comeback after a brief hiatus.
Oh Yaara Ainvayi Ainvayi Lut Gaya
The romantic comedy marks the debut of Big Boss season 7winner and popular TV face Gauhar Khan in the Punjabi industry. Gauhar will be seen opposite singer-turned-actor Jassi Gill. It would be really interesting to see Gauhar as a Punjabi mutiyar as she can be seen donning a salwar kameez in the recently released poster of the film.
Sardaar Ji
Directed by Rohit Jugraj, Sardar ji stars the hit Jodi of Diljit Dosanjh and Neeru Bajwa in the lead role. The film also stars Mandy Thakar. This romcom is expected to release in month of June. Diljit and Neeru’s pair have already given blockbusters like Jatt and Juliet and its sequel. It would be great to watch what dhamaal this Jodi would do with this film.
