The petition came up for hearing before the court headed by justice Ritu Bahri that issued notice of motion to the Haryana government as well as Lokayukta for August 1.

Earlier on July 22 chief parliamentary secretary Vinod Bhayana had approached the high court challenging the Lokayukta proceedings on which the high court had ordered that the Lokayukta shall not pass any orders in the case till the next date of hearing in the high court.

Haryana Lokayukta in his orders on July 2 and July 23 had refused to give any reprieve to the five accused Congress leaders who had pleaded that the very allegations that they sought money in lieu of getting CLU permissions for some land were baseless and the complaint was not maintainable by the Lokayukta under Section 9 of the Haryana Lokayukta Act. On July 23, the Lokayukta had ordered the legislators to file their replies by August 4.
