Apart from the former director of Haryana primary education department, the court also acquitted former district project coordinator and co-accused Kiran Mishra by giving them benefit of doubt.

Earlier, co-accused Raj Kumar, who turned an approver in the case, had confessed that he had made wrong quotations for a projector system and an LCD television. Raj Kumar had claimed that he forged the quotation on the insistence of Sanjiv Kumar.

Sandeep Arora, the IAS officer's friend and the second witness, said that he had formed a fake company 'Natraj Audio Visual' in "good faith" for Sanjiv Kumar.

Arora said, "I just set up the company for him. The entire working of the company was handled by Sanjiv Kumar. All the profit gained from the company would go to him."
