Union minister of state for external affairs Gen VK Singh (retired) on Monday exhorted the people of Haryana to uproot the Congress government in the upcoming October assembly polls and ensure a better future for their children.
Dubbing chief minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda’s government as a property dealers’ regime, he said while the soldiers and farmers of the state have been forced to pay through their nose, only a select few were having a gala time.
VK Singh said this while addressing a gathering at Bahu Akbarpur village during his felicitation ceremony on Monday.
Congratulating the public for installing Narendra Modi-led government at the Centre, he said that now the Union government would draft pro-farmer policies.
Giving a clarion call, he said that if they wanted to set up a similar government in the state, then they would have to work hard to establish ‘swaraj’ in Haryana.
He said that they have to work like jawans — keeping the interest of the country on top and working in harmony with people from all 36 communities.
He also urged the public to exercise restraint to witness ‘good days’ as promised by the BJP before coming into power, adding the previous Congress government had emptied the coffers and it would need some time to fill the gap and bring the desirable changes.
