The Haryana cabinet on Saturday decided to promote boxer Jai Bhagwan and discus thrower Seema Antil from the post of sub inspector to inspector in the Haryana Police under sports quota on the basis of outstanding achievements in the field of sports.
Both of them had participated in London Olympics-2012.
The cabinet, which met under the chairmanship of chief minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda, also decided to appoint sailing sensation Balraj Yadav as sub inspector of police under the same quota as per the policy of the state government, an official spokesperson said.
The state government has taken these decisions in recognition of their achievements in order to motivate and galvanise the sports activities in the state.
Antil had won silver medal in eighth Commonwealth Games held in Australia in 2006 and bronze medal in Commonwealth Games held in New Delhi.
Similarly, Bhagwan had won bronze medal in 19th Commonwealth Games in 2010. Antil had also participated in two consecutive Olympics including London Olympics-2012 and Beijing 2008 (China).In case of Balraj Yadav, the state government has also relaxed the age condition for appointing him as sub inspector.
As Balraj Yadav is above 35 years of age as against the prescribed age limit of 18 to 27 years for the posts of inspector and sub inspector, the cabinet decided to relax the condition of age to give him employment.

{{/usCountry}}With a view to promote sports and to boost the morale of sportspersons, the spokesperson said the government had created 18 posts of inspectors and 14 posts of sub inspectors under sports quota to accommodate the winners of Commonwealth Games and Asian Games.
