Haven’t asked Takht to summon Amarinder: Makkar

Talking to the media, Makkar said he had formed a committee of lawyers to advise the SGPC on the legal course to be taken to stop the formation of the HSGPC. He said the SGPC was not worried about the July 6 meeting at Kaithal as a case in the high court could be filed even if the Haryana government announced the formation of a separate gurdwara committee for the state.

He sought to clarify that he had not asked the Akal Takht to summon Amarinder or Chatha. “I have only aired the views of the jathedar, who had made it clear a couple of years ago that the formation of the HSGPC will be seen as an attempt to divide the community and will be viewed seriously by the Takht,” he added.
