Situated at a height of over 15,000-feet, the Hemkund Sahib was reopened by religious leaders and trustees of the gurdwara, with hundreds of pilgrims witnessing the ceremony amid extreme cold.

The pilgrimage to Hemkund Sahib gurdwara is one of the toughest journeys and one has to take an arduous trek of 21km to reach there.

During winters, the gurdwara remains closed for pilgrims as the area remains snow-bound.
