Hockey Olympian G Nandy Singh passed away in New Delhi on Sunday, according to his family members. He was 88.
Born in Lyallpur (now Faisalabad in Pakistan) in 1926, Nandy was a member of the Indian hockey team that won gold medal in 1948 (London) and 1952 (Helsinki) Olympics.
He retired as commander from the Indian Navy and was decorated with Param Vashisht Sewa Medal (PVSM).
