The Punjab state consumer disputes redressal commission has asked ICICI Bank to pay Rs 75,000 to a complainant as compensation for impounding his commercial vehicle and selling it off.

The complainant, Gurjeet Singh, had failed to submit a vehicle-loan instalment, following which, the bank's recovery agents had taken away his canter without notice. Te Bathinda and Mumbai branches of the bank will also pay the consumer 10% interest per annum from the date of the complaint, besides Rs 2,000 as cost of litigation.
