Rashmi Negi, a co-accused in the case involving suspended inspector general (IG) of police Gautam Cheema and alleged conman Devinder Gill, on Saturday claimed that she had filed a complaint against a senior Punjab police officer for favouring Gill and pressuring the SAS Nagar police to act against Cheema.
In a press conference called a few days after she was granted bail by a local court, Negi claimed several police officers were supporting Gill and implicating Cheema and her. She demanded a Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) probe into the matter.
She also alleged that a journalist was involved in the controversy and claimed he was present at Max Hospital when Sumedh Gulati was abducted.
Commenting on the bail granted to Gill, Negi, who was allegedly also sexually assaulted by the former, said, “When Devinder was granted bail in a rape case in Panchkula, the investigating officer did not contact me or serve me a notice. Therefore, I could contest the (bail) application.
The Punjab police have booked me in a case of molestation, which is simply preposterous.”
“Not once did they make me join the investigation and registered a first information report (FIR) on a baseless complaint. Kricpy went to the United States of America (USA) in April and filed the complaint against Cheema as an afterthought. She’s being backed by high-ranking officers above the rank of the inspector general,” Rashmi Negi told mediapersons.

{{/usCountry}}She added Kricspy had over 40 complaints of immigration fraud pending against her but the Punjab police refused to book her. She also accused the Punjab police of taking appropriate action on her complaint against Davinder Gill, whom she accused of duping her of Rs 40 lakh.
When Hindustan Times contacted Kricpy Khaira, her cousin, who attended the call, said Kricpy would not comment on the allegations.
