The Congress leader from Hisar, Jai Parkash who had reportedly said on Sunday last that Anna team member Arvind Kejriwal could be beaten up like his colleague Prashant Bhushan, condemned the assault on first named, here on Tuesday.
Jai Parkash who was the Congress candidate in the recently concluded Hisar bypoll, against whom the Anna team had campaigned, told HT that conduct such as assault on anyone, was not acceptable in a democratic set up.
Jai Parkash who even lost his security in the prestigious byelection was reported to have made that controversial remark after Anna team led by Kejriwal, had arrived in Hisar to campaigned against the Congress. However, Jai Parkash had later denied having said so.
``Yeh sab jhoot hai, maine aisa nahi kaha aur maine sabko immediately yeh bata bhi diya tha’’, he said meaning that it all was a lie, I had never made any such remark and immediately told every one in the context.
It may be recalled that Kejriwal belonged to Hisar where Congress candidate trailed badly and even lost his security in the said bypoll.
