Eighteen Jat leaders led by khap leader Sube Singh were to meet with the chief minister at Haryana Bhawan in New Delhi at 10pm on Saturday. The district administration approached the Jat leaders and advised them to meet the chief minister at Delhi, official sources said.

A Jat leader, Ram Bhagat Malik, said: “If the meeting with the chief minister turns out to be fruitful, we will end the agitation. Otherwise, the stir will be intensified and to decide the future course of action, a meeting of khaps has been convened in Jind on Sunday.”

All-India Jat Aarakshan Sangharsh Samiti (AIJASS) state president Dharampal Dhariwal told Hindustan Times, that we had been called by the chief minister to discuss our demands. “We hope the matter will be solved,” he said.

This is for the first time the chief minister has intervened into the matter providing moral relief to public, which have been facing the brunt of the agitation.
