The members also demanded immediate arrest of Bansal in the alleged case of bribe taken by his nephew Vijay Singla on his instance. They raised slogans against the Congress and urged the CBI to register a case against Bansal.

On being asked, why the JD (U) national president was defending Bansal, local president of the party Surinder Bhardwaj said he was not aware of details of the case.

“We have explained everything to him and now he is also demanding Bansal's resignation from the cabinet,” he added.

Bhardwaj said the JD (U) demanded the constitution of a SIT (special investigation team) to interrogate Bansal. The team should be monitored by the highest judiciary of the country to bring out the truth of his amassing wealth.
