Voluntary confession of the child wherein he admitted to snatching with help of a group of his friends helped prove the allegations.

“Keeping in view the confession made by the juvenile wherein he admits to his involvement in the crime, he is directed to perform community service for two months beginning March 15, daily for two hours,” said the order.

As part of the community service, the child has been entrusted with assisting the court staff and would do odd jobs like answer the bell call, shifting files, etc. He is to report to the JJB at 11am daily where his attendance would be marked by the JJB, who would also inspect his work from time to time.

The board before parting summoned his parents and counselled them to ensure proper education to the juvenile who should be forbidden from indulging in any criminal activity in future.

The juvenile’s accomplices never appeared before the board thus the proceedings against them were stopped.
Not a first

In February, the board had ordered another juvenile, a teenager, to perform cleaning work in the court as part of two-month community service after he was found guilty of outraging the modesty of a woman and kidnapping her.
