Punjab deputy chief minister Sukhbir Singh Badal on Friday warned strict action against those responsible for "lapses" in the probe into the alleged kidnapping of a teenage girl in Faridkot.
"The priority of the state government and police is to catch the accused person at the earliest," he told reporters here.
If there had been any lapses in the investigation, a stringent action would be initiated against the concerned police personnel, Sukhbir said.
Meanwhile, Punjab DGP Sumedh Singh Saini said 13 persons had been arrested in the kidnapping case.
Fire arms and vehicles used in the crime had been recovered, he said adding, efforts were being made to arrest main accused identified as one Nishan Singh.
A 15-year-old girl, a Class 10 student, was allegedly kidnapped at gunpoint in Faridkot on September 24.
