Less rain expected on Monday, mercury to shoot up: Met

Chandigarh received 31.4 mm rainfall till 5.30pm on Sunday, the meteorological department said, with the maximum temperature dipping by seven notches below the normal.

Chandigarh received 31.4 mm rainfall till 5.30pm on Sunday, the meteorological department said, with the maximum temperature dipping by seven notches below the normal.

The weather man predicted rainfall till 8.30 am on Monday, but said there will be lesser rain after that and the temperature will shoot up.

At 27.9 degrees Celsius the temperature on Sunday was two degrees higher than the previous day, the weather department said.
It, however, said the minimum temperature of 23.4 degrees Celsius was a degree lower than that of Saturday.
