Reverting to the system prevailing before the aadhar cards were introduced, a Central government directive has asked dealers to revert to the old system of providing subsidised LPG to consumers on subsidies rates.
The system has been implemented from Monday.
This had led to problems in delivery of LPG cylinders with dealers claiming that they would have to change their system software and the consumers too are upset at the loss of time and they underwent in following the system.
Ashok Bhatia, owner of Bhatia gas agency, in Sector 22, said, "We have been issued directions that no subsidy will be put in bank accounts and the previous process will be followed. This entailed software change and deliveries were hit."
The residents in the city have been a harassed lot and have been making rounds of the gas agencies in the past one week for getting delivery of domestic cylinders. Sunil Saini a resident of sector 22 said, "I had booked a cylinder last week but haven't got the delivery so far. When contacted the dealer I was told that the system is being upgraded and the delivery will be made shortly. This exercise of making aadhar cards and attaching them to banks has been a futile exercise, nothing more than harassment for general public," he alleged.
