Punjab revenue and public relations minister Bikram Singh Majithia on Thursday dubbed the National Food Security Bill a "half-cooked" exercise of the Congress-led UPA government.

In a statement here, he said the union cabinet's nod to the ordinance was a step to "tempt the common masses on the eve of the general elections"

Majithia said this move would not work for the UPA, which was the "most corrupt government since Independence".
He dubbed the draft bill "a poor carbon copy of the SAD-BJP government's most successful atta-dal scheme".
The atta-dal scheme carries much more provisions for rationing than the food security bill, he added.
