Mercury hovers below normal in Punjab, Haryana

Maximum temperatures on Wednesday continued to hover few notches below normal in Punjab and Haryana.

Union Territory Chandigarh had a high of 37.4 deg C, down by a degree below normal, MeT department said here today.

Among other places in Punjab, Amritsar had a high of 37.4 deg C, down by two degrees below normal.

Ludhiana and Patiala had maximum of 38.4 deg C and 38 deg C.

In neighbouring Haryana, Ambala and Karnal saw mercury settling at 38 deg C each while Hisar had a high of 39.5 deg C, down by two notches below normal.

Bhiwani and Narnaul recorded maximum at 38.6 deg C and 38.5 deg C.Weather will remain dry in Punjab and Haryana in next 24 hours, as per Met department's forecast.
