With only 55.35% students managing to clear the Punjab School Education Board's Class-10 examination, results of which were declared on Tuesday, poor performance of SAS Nagar schools continues in academics.

With only 55.35% students managing to clear the Punjab School Education Board's Class-10 examination, results of which were declared on Tuesday, poor performance of SAS Nagar schools continues in academics.

Though it is better than the last year, where only one student was in the merit list. This year, out of 10,766 students who appeared in the Class-10 exam from SAS Nagar, 5,959 were declared pass.

Though last year, the then Punjab education minister Sikander Singh Maluka assured that the department would seek explanation from teachers for the poor results, but nothing happened.

Even this year, Punjab education minister Daljeet Singh Cheema said, "We will analyse the results and will seek explanation from the teachers concerned. But the overall result of the state is satisfactory."

Simranpreet Kaur of Government Girls Senior Secondary School, Gharuan, bagged rank 12 by scoring 635 out of 650, Ridhi Jain of Baby Model Senior Secondary School, Banur achieved rank 16 by scoring 631 out 650. Manish Kumar of Dashmesh Khalsa Public Senior secondary School, Phase-3 B1, SAS Nagar, got rank 17 and scored 630 out of 650 and Harmandeep Singh of Acharya Atma Ram Jain Model Senior Secondary School, Derabassi, got rank 21 and scored 626 out of 650.
