Additional chief metropolitan magistrate DK Jangala dropped the proceedings, begun earlier on Singh's plea, after he failed repeatedly to appear before the court.

"Proceedings of approver initiated on the application moved by the applicant and accused Chanshivroop Singh, are dropped. The investigating officer is directed to proceed in the matter as per the provisions of law," the court said.

Singh, had filed an application before the court expressing his willingness to turn approver in the case and was out on bail. An assistant manager in Kanda's now-defunct MDLR Airlines, Singh had allegedly gone to Dubai where Geetika was working with Emirates Airlines and told its officials that she had secured a job with the MDLR on the basis of fake and forged documents.

The police said he had sent fake e-mails to Geetika informing her about purported extradition proceedings against her in Dubai to pressurise her to join back the MDLR.

The matter was kept pending regarding the acceptance of tender of pardon by him but he did not attend the court proceedings thereafter and the police informed the judge that he had gone to the US.
