NABARD sanctions R120 cr to upgrade milk plants, ROs

The National Agriculture Rural Development Bank (NABARD) has sanctioned projects worth R120 crore for upgrading milk plants and supplying potable water in Punjab.

The National Agriculture Rural Development Bank (NABARD) has sanctioned projects worth R120 crore for upgrading milk plants and supplying potable water in Punjab.

A NABARD team, led by chief managing director Naresh Gupta and state general manager DD Mishra, called on chief minister Parkash Singh Badal here on Saturday and apprised him of the decision.

The team informed Badal that R45 crore has been sanctioned for upgrading three milk plants in Mohali, Jalandhar and Amritsar.

The agency has sanctioned R75 crore for the installation of reverse osmosis (RO) systems in 17 districts of the state.

The team also assured the chief minister that the top brass of the agency was likely to approve projects worth R68.99 crore for upgrading 101 roads, the work for which would be executed by the Punjab Mandi Board.
