Nannu was Ferozepur MLA from 2002 to 2007 and 2007 to 2012.

“My wife Navpreet Kaur went missing on April 24 midnight under mysterious circumstances. We got married on April 6. When we investigated, it was found she had telephonic conversations with Sukhpal Singh Nannu,” said the complainant, Satnam Singh, of Aku Wala village in the district . “Navpreet had gone to her parents’ place at Ratto Ke village in Tarn Taran district on April 9 and she returned after 10 days. But she went missing on April 24,” he said at a press conference.

In a letter purportedly written by Navpreet, she accused Satnam for having extramarital affair. He, however, denied the charges. “A case under Section 365 of the IPC was registered against unidentified persons. As the family accused Sukhpal Singh Nannu of abducting her, we are investigating the matter,” said Ferozepur SSP Sandeep Goel. At the time of raid, Nannu’s house was found to be locked.
