The students are demanding establishment of student's council and reduction in mess charges and miscellaneous charges, which include electricity and room charges. The students boycotted their classes and demonstrated in front of the administrative block of the institution. They raised slogans against the director of the institute. The students are sitting on a dharna round-the-clock.

A student's representative, Kumar Gaurav, said a delegation of the students, which had gone to Delhi on Wednesday to meet the minister concerned and senior functionaries of the human resource development (HRD) ministry to convey their problems and seek solutions for the same as the Director was not listening to them, submitted the memorandum to senior officials at Delhi.

They were assured that the problems of the students as well as of other employees of the institute would be looked into and sorted out soon.
