Northern states to have new BJP chiefs by November 20
The Bharatiya Janata Party's national election officer and national vice president Avinash Rai Khanna on Saturday chaired the meeting of election officers of Punjab, Haryana, Himachal, Jammu and Kashmir and Chandigarh.

Prof Rajinder Bhandari from Punjab, Rishi Prakash Sharma from Haryana, Vikram Singh Thakur from Himachal, Chander Mohan Gupta from J-K and Prem Kaushik from Chandigarh participated in the meeting. Khanna, a Rajya Sabha member, asked them to strictly follow the election schedule and complete the poll process for new state presidents by November 20.
As per the schedule declared by Khanna, state election officers have been asked to ensure election of booths by September 20, mandal units by October 10, district units by October 20 and state presidents by November 20.
