The National Security Guard (NSG) personnel deployed in the security of Punjab's Deputy Chief Minister Sukhbir Singh Badal have been withdrawn by the Centre following a review of the security cover for him.

The number of security personnel withdrawn was immediately not known, official sources said here today.
The sources said Punjab Police has taken up the matter with the Union Home Ministry and others concerned at the Centre demanding restoration of the NSG security cover to the Deputy Chief Minister.
Punjab Police Director General PS Gill could not be contacted despite repeated attempts.
