With less than a month for the new academic session to begin, the recommendation, which was given by a committee earlier this year and approved by the vice-chancellor, hasn't been listed before the PU syndicate for final approval.

It was in May that the committee gave the recommendation and it was decided that the no-car rule be in the hostel handbook of information. However, it's not even up on the website (puchd.ac.in) yet.

Dean, student welfare, (DSW) AS Ahluwalia told HT, "We are all in favour of the recommendation and will implement it from this session onwards." However, Dr Ahluwalia underlined that the implementation can't happen until the syndicate approves such recommendations. "We are still counselling students. I am sure and we will soon be implementing it."
