Different airlines operating from the city are benefitting from the uncertainty that looms large over the operations of Kingfisher Airlines. Many passengers are withdrawing bookings with Kingfisher and taking up flights with other airlines at the last moment. The airlines, according to their policy, are charging high fare from passengers.

Though the prevailing disruption of services by Kingfisher did not affect its operations in the city and all flights were operational as per schedule, passengers were in a dilemma whether flights would run as usual. Several passengers thronged the airport and kept calling the customer care of Kingfisher Airlines to know the status of their flights.

Amit Kumar, a frequent flyer to Mumbai, said, "My flight to Mumbai was scheduled for Tuesday, but I got it cancelled as I was not sure whether the flight would operate or not. I could not take any chance as I have a important meeting scheduled there. I have rescheduled my ticket with another airline.”

Hundreds of passengers, who booked tickets at the last moment with different airlines after cancelling their tickets with Kingfisher, shelled out around Rs 10,000 as fare to Mumbai and around Rs 7,000 as fare to Delhi. These fares are one-way.
