In 2013-14, ` 33.57 crore was earmarked for development works. The proposed income for the 2014-15 is ` 75.13 crore and proposed expenditure is
` 74.42 crore.

The proposed income for 201314 was ` 61.81 crore and proposed expenditure was ` 61.24 crore.
The budget was passed unanimously with hardly any discussion.

Only BJP councillor CB Goel questioned the proposed collection of stamp duty. “Last year, you estimated that ` 40 crore would be generated but in actual only ` 13 crore was collected till December, 2013. You are anticipating that till March, 2014, you would collect up to ` 30 crore,” said Goel.

Executive officer, MC, OP Sihag replied that he had written to concerned authorities for paying back MC’s dues.

“We have also passed a resolution of earmarking ` 3 crore for each ward. For this, ` 3 crore each for every ward will be used for development works and also grant from the government which is expected to be ` 15-20 crore,” said OP Sihag, executive officer, MC.
