Pannu video: 5 in judicial remand

All five persons arrested for uploading the video clip of the recent assault on Punjab-cadre IAS officer Kahan Singh Pannu in Uttarakhand, were on Monday produced in an SAS Nagar court, which remanded them in judicial custody.

All five persons arrested for uploading the video clip of the recent assault on Punjab-cadre IAS officer Kahan Singh Pannu in Uttarakhand, were on Monday produced in an SAS Nagar court, which remanded them in judicial custody.

The suspects are Gursewak Singh, Baljinder Singh Kankwal, Gurwinder Singh, Sukhwinder Singh and Darshan Singh. Darshan was arrested by the state cyber cell late on Sunday night, while the remand of the others ended on Monday.

Darshan, who allegedly assaulted Pannu, said he was innocent and had no role in the incident.
All five had been booked under Section 66-A of the Information Technology (IT) Act and sections 295-A, 298 (both pertaining to hurting religious sentiments), 500 (defamation) and 120-B (criminal conspiracy) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).
