People can cast votes in absence of voter ID card: DC

Phulia was reviewing a meeting of assistant returning officers and other officers concerned about the arrangements of Lok Sabha general elections at the Mini Secretariat here on Sunday.

He said electors who did not have an Electoral Photo Identity Card (EPIC) shall have to produce any of the alternative photo documents for establishing their identity.

These alternative documents include passport, driving licence, PAN card, service identity card, passbook of bank/post office, pension documents, freedom fighter identity card with photograph, arms license with photograph, certificate of physical handicap with photo, health insurance scheme smart card with photo, property document with photograph, job cards with photograph under the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act (MGNREGA ), and authenticated photo voter slip issued by the election machinery.
