Police search temple after bomb scare, later call it mock drill

Chandigarh police carried out a search at the Sector 31 Kalibari temple today evening after receiving a call about a bomb planted there. It later turned out that police had devised a mock drill to assess its preparedness in such an eventuality.

A bomb disposal squad along with a detection team was rushed to the temple after an anonymous call was received at the police control room at about 6pm.

The team cordoned off the area and carried out a search in the temple. It later turned out that police had devised a mock drill to assess its preparedness in such an eventuality.

The temple is famous not only in the city but also among tourists, particularly from West Bengal.
