At a meeting with representatives of various political parties here, the CEO also stressed that all parties should launch an awareness campaign to motivate people to get themselves registered as voters.

He pointed out that the Election Commission (EC) of India had launched a campaign to enrol every eligible person who is 18 years of age on January 1, 2014.

He said slum-dwellers, beggars and nomadic tribal people such as 'kinnars' were also being encouraged to enrol themselves as voters.
