The radiotherapy department at the Regional Cancer Centre, PGIMER, here is organising a poster exhibition on Saturday to increase the awareness about cancer among the people.It will remain opened between 9.15 am and 1 pm at the new OPD Block in the ground floor.
PGIMER authorities said the exhibition was being organised to raise awareness about common causes of cancer, early warning signs, early detection methods and treatment facilities.
In addition, volunteers from the department will also answer visitors' questions.
Every year, the department registers more than 5,000 cancer patients who are mostly in the advanced stages of the disease.
As early diagnosis and treatment significantly improve chances of cure, the exhibition will stress on screening programs and warning signs.
