PU civil services centre to revamp programme

Keeping pace with the changing syllabus and new pattern of civil services examination and other competitive examinations, Centre for IAS, Panjab University, has decided to redesign its study programmes.

Keeping pace with the changing syllabus and new pattern of civil services examination and other competitive examinations, Centre for IAS, Panjab University, has decided to redesign its study programmes.

The centre will now impart training in soft skills, besides preparing students for general studies and aptitude tests.

The centre's honorary director RK Mahajan said that the centre would also focus on discussions. It will also introduce new programmes.

"The new courses planned by the centre include weekend programmes on development of soft skills, besides revamping the preparatory schedule for already existing study programmes," said Mahajan said, adding that the centre would now the focus development of personality, communication skills, confidence building, stress and time management and interview skills.

The centre also plans to give coaching guidance for certain UGC-NET subjects.

The classes for a one-month batch course will commence on May 5, and will a batch of 50 students.Classes for the weekend programme are also scheduled to begin in the first week of May.

The centre will also begin a weekend programme comprising test-based lecture series programme for students who are unable to attend regular classes.
While the fees are `1,000 a month, PU students, for whom the centre reserved 25 seats, will be given a 50% discount.
