The Vidhan Sabha was adjourned thrice by the speaker Charanjit Singh Atwal as chief minister Parkash Singh Badal sought time to have reconciliation with members of the opposition.

The angry opposition on Thursday held a protest in Vidhan Sabha near Speaker's chamber for his biased conduct.
The members of the Congress, who were wearing black bands and badges on their foreheads and arms, raised slogans against the speaker for "siding" with the ruling alliance without giving a fair chance to the opposition to clarify their position.
Later, Congress also held a candlelight march in the evening.
