Punjab bags e-governance award

The Computer Society of India (CSI) has awarded the 'CSI Nihilent e-Governance' award for 2012-13 to Punjab, a spokesman said here.

The award was presented in the integrated financial management system (IFMS) category at the CSI's 48th convention held in Vishakhapatnam on Saturday. It was received by Punjab secretary finance-cum-director, accounts and treasury, G Ramesh Kumar.

The award ceremony was preceded by a panel discussion on "e-governance project sustainability" between members from Punjab, Gujarat, Goa, Kerala and Delhi, the spokesman added.
